Beyonce isn’t having fun when it comes to her new album, Renaissance.
Thursday, June 30, the interpreter of “Single Ladies” unveiled the fanciful cover of what is certainly one of the most anticipated albums of all time.
On Instagram, she shared a written tribute to the events leading up to her creation:
“Creating this album allowed me to dream and find escape in a frightening time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when nothing else was moving.
My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgement. A place to be free from perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, to break free, to feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration.”
She concluded her post by sharing her hope that fans “find joy in this music” and that it “inspires you to let go”, as well as to “feel as unique and strong and sexy as you are”.
On an entirely black background, the Renaissance Album the cover features a mostly nude Bey with long blonde hair, sitting on a shiny silver horse.
She is positioned so that the upper half of her body faces forward when looking at the camera.
