Drake narrowly beats Lil Nas X to win back album number 1 – Music News

Drake returns to number 1 on the official album chart with Certified Lover Boy, refusing Lil Nas X to make his chart-topping debut with Montero.

Drake’s latest record bounces from 3 to 1 and tops streams this week – although it was an incredibly close end as less than 500 chart sales separate the top 2 albums, with Lil Nas’ debut studio collection X at the top of downloads.

Meanwhile, British rapper Tion Wayne finishes at number 5 with his debut album Green With Envy, landing just ahead of Bob Dylan’s Springtime In New York – Bootleg 16 at number 6. Springtime is Dylan’s 41st Top 10 album and claims the most physical sales of the week.

Legendary English rock band Genesis recorded their first Top 10 album in seven years with the hit collection The Last Domino at number 9, and Birmingham rapper M1llionz closes this week’s Top 10 with his first mixtape Provisional License .

Further down, Canadian metal band Spiritbox opens at number 19 with their debut album Eternal Blue, while former Fleetwood guitarist Max Lindsey Buckingham drops to number 25 with their eponymous seventh solo album.

Finally, the nine-piece K-Pop group NCT 127 won their first UK album in the Top 40 with their third Korean-language album Sticker, which completed the ranking at number 40.
