‘DS2’ Jokes Leak as ‘Deltacron’ Variant Looks Like Future Album Cover

Future thought it was a drought, but scientists know it’s a pandemic.

A new image of the latest potential variant of COVID-19, dubbed ‘Deltacron’, has made its way onto the internet, and hip-hop fans have all made the same observation about the purple and blue shape – it looks like a bit at Future’s DS2 cover.

Yes, the pandemic we’ve been living through for two years now may have a variation that looks like a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, which Complex listed as its second best record of 2015. Fans started noticing the similarities Monday after CTV News shared a tweet featuring a rendering of the virus.

the CTV News covered how health experts were divided over the potential variant, which was first spotted by a professor from the University of Cyprus Dr Leondios Kostrikis, which noted 25 cases of the possible mutation that bears resemblance to the Omicron and Delta variants. Some within the World Health Organization and beyond, however, point to probable lab error as the reason for the discovery.

“Okay, let’s make this a teachable moment,” infectious disease doctor Krutika Kuppalli said Sunday. “There is no #Deltacron (just like there is no #Flurona.” As she shared, this “did NOT form a super variant.”

One thing we can all agree on is that what scientists have discovered and shared with the world truly resembles the DS2 scrapbook art. Our friends at Pigeons & Planes went above and beyond to paste the disc logo onto the render.
