Egyptian-German group Naheli releases double album “Chemistry & Reevaluation” – Music – Arts and Culture

The 12-track album is available on all streaming platforms, with Youtube provide visuals for songs.

From Symbiotic, I’ll Be Ok, Reign, Stay, to the latest tracks Dancing on the Ice, Reevaluation and final review, the album is an immersive journey through the rock-inspired repertoire of Naheli, formerly Kassieopeia, who released an album and a live EP in 2015 and 2018.

“We started out as a progressive rock band and now we’ve evolved into a pop direction. But we still have songs that have a very progressive vibe and I was wondering how to combine the two sides,” says Lina, the lead singer. .

This is particularly evident in songs such as Chemistry, characterized by a round pop sound, or Reevaluation, which is marked by a more progressive sound.

“At first I was skeptical,” comments Lina. “I realized, however, that the two sides of the album are two sides of the same coin, and some songs complement each other and have small parts on the other side. Like for example Symbiotic, the lead single It’s about feeling co-dependent on your inner demons, but at the same time, it’s a thought process, the question of how or whether to get out of it. “

Since reforming as Naheli, the group has released several singles including Empire in 2019.

Musically, they cover a wide range of influences including European and Egyptian pop, soul and progressive pop.

Lina was born in Germany to Egyptian parents and spends most summers in Cairo, where she studied medicine before pursuing a career in music.

Naheli plans to air several shows and live events in November to support the new album Chemistry & Reevaluation.
