Ex-Shed Seven Drummer Alan Leach Releases Debut Solo Album E! News UK

Former Shed Seven drummer Alan Leach has announced his first solo album.

The album was engineered and mixed by Mickey Dale and features a number of collaborations and guest contributions. Alan’s former bandmate Joe Johnson plays guitar on three tracks, including “Erica” which the duo co-wrote together.

“I’ve had a lot of these songs buzzing around in my head for years, but band life can take up a lot of energy, so until now I’ve never had time to do anything. with them.

“As it’s my debut album, I felt like I had a completely blank canvas, so I just threw stuff at it and hoped for the best. Romantic storytelling seems to be where I’m most at it.” comfortable writing lyrics, but it didn’t. It didn’t stop me from trying to remake the world on a few songs.”

Alan added: “Singing was the big challenge. I went into the studio aiming for the lush northern tones of Jarvis Cocker, Alex Turner, Ian Brown and Richard Hawley, conceding that if the finished product didn’t sound like Frank Sidebottom, then I would have done well.”

Leach has announced two live dates on December 2 and 3 in his hometown of York where he will perform songs from the album with live band backing.

“I wish I knew now what I thought I knew then” tracklist:

1. A Dozen of Me
