JACK STARR’S BURNING STARR Releases Seventh Studio Album “Stand Your Ground”
August 25, 2017

Burning Starr by American power metal band Jack Starr released their seventh studio album Defend your territory on Aug 25, 2017 via High Roller Records.

Defend your territory is a concept album based on the issues America and the world face and the belief many people have that we are heading into an era of strife and conflict. In addition to presenting new tracks, the set will include compositions recorded in the 80s but never recorded before.

Jack Starr commented, “This is an old school type metal album with modern production and great songs. In my opinion this is one of the best metal albums of the last 20 years. I think if we could go back in a time machine and release this album in 1988 it would sell millions of copies, but even though it’s 2017 I think it will still perform really well.

Comparing Defend your territory with its predecessor Land of the dead, Starr added, “I think the new one is more diverse and has a lot more influences and it’s also a lot longer. I think I play better guitar solos, Todd Micheal Hall sings better, Ned Meloni on bass plays the best of his career, and the comparison that comes to mind is Steve Harris {Iron Maiden]. Ned plays with passion and speed like Steve Harris and also gets great sound like Steve Harris. And as far as Rhino is concerned, there is nothing to say because he always plays very well and this album is a continuation of this incredible style of drums that he has perfected.

“My favorite song on the album is ‘Stand Your Ground’, the title cut. I’ve played this one for a few people and the reaction has always been the same. It seems that the listener is very surprised that even though the song is 11 minutes long, it goes very fast and is not repetitive. “Stand Your Ground” has so many twists and turns within one song, it’s like a mini symphony! ”

The output was produced by Bart Gabriel, once again, with recording and mixing by Kevin Burnes. Mastering was provided by Patrick W. Engel at the Temple Of Disharmony Studio in Germany.

Cover illustration duties fell to Ken Kelly, who previously painted artwork for Rainbow, Kiss, and Manowar.

The list of tracks is as follows;

01. ‘The secrets we hide’
02. “The enemy”
03. “Stand firm”
04. ‘Hero’
05. ‘Fate’
06. ‘The sky is falling’
07. “Worlds apart”
08. “Escape the night”
09. “We are one”
10. “Stronger than steel”
11. “False gods”
12. “Until the end”

The composition of Burning Starr by Jack Starr was as follows;

Todd Michael Hall (vocals)
Jack Starr (solo and rhythm guitars)
Ned Meloni (bass)
Kenny “Rhino” Edwards (drums)

A music video was shot for the track “Hero”. In addition, an official lyric video has been created for the song “False Gods”. Both clips can be viewed below.

Sixth studio disc Land of the dead was released in November 2011 via Limb Music.
