Lil Nas X jokingly gave birth to her debut album in a promo video.
The 22-year-old rap star has just released his long-awaited new record, ‘Montero’, and to mark the occasion, he filmed a promo video that shows him giving birth to the album in a hospital.
The surreal video shows Nas rushed to hospital as his waters break, before he sets his new record with the help of two medics. He was subsequently seen lovingly stroking a copy of ‘Montero’ while sitting on a hospital bed.
The pregnancy-themed promo has been teased on Nas’ social media accounts in recent days, with the rapper seeing a fake baby bump leading up to the album’s release.
Nas also created the steamy “That’s What I Want” music video, which pays homage to “Brokeback Mountain” and also features a surprise appearance by Billy Porter.
Additionally, the new album features cameos from Megan Thee Stallion and Miley Cyrus, who promoted ‘Montero’ on her own social media accounts.
Miley tweeted: “Congratulations on Baby Montero! You will always be my little baby! Thanks for including me on your debut album! I love you! #AmIDreaming OUT NOW! (Sic)”
Meanwhile, Nas recently admitted that he was convinced he was “going to die” when he got famous.
The rapper went through a period of anxiety when he started making music, which escalated when his single “Old Town Road” became a worldwide hit.
He explained, âThe whole time I was making music I thought I was going to die soon for some reason. Worse period of anxiety.
âYou know, I lost my grandmother and I was the first person close to me that I ever lost. I was like, ‘Oh my God, it all adds up.’ And then especially when ‘Old Town Road blew up.’ I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to die soon.’ All these artists who were entering or starting to appear in the music industry were dying, I was like, “What the hell is going on?”
“I guess I tried to ignore it until it was gone. And then that’s when I discovered belief in the universe, for sure. And I like, ‘Oh my God, I’m really not the only one in this situation.’ “
