Lincoln Legislative Candidate Brenda Bickford: In Her Own Words | Legislature of Nebraska

COVID-19 has impacted us all, especially our small businesses. They are really paying a high price right now. The state must do what it can to help them rebuild and succeed.

With social isolation, I think people have realized how important people are in our lives and how important family is in our lives. … I hope that the attention and sense of community will continue.

For leisure, I like take out and pick up an old piece of furniture, strip it, redo it, reuse it. I love doing this stuff, going to antique shops, auctions.

I collected antiques for many years. After furniture, I love my old pots.

For the holidays, I like any sunny and warm place.

I don’t have any children. But I had a niece and a nephew. Unfortunately, my niece, a few years ago, died in a car accident. She was 20 years old, just under a year of marriage. And unfortunately her husband was also killed in the wreckage of the car.

My nephew blessed me with two grand-nieces and a grand-nephew who are the loves of my life. One of my favorite songs is Aunt Brenda.

A talent that I would like to have? I wish I could sing but believe me you don’t want me to sing. I always thought it would be great. At church, I hear these people who have this talent that I don’t have.
