Lorde says “Solar Power” album cover was “a bit wild”

Lorde described his now infamous Solar energy album cover as “a little wild” in an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

ICYMI, Lorde made her long-awaited comeback earlier this month with her first single in four years, ‘Solar Power’.

In addition to the track, she also released the artwork for her upcoming album of the same name and let’s just say that’s enough… cheeky.

Speaking to Stephen Colbert, Lorde revealed that the photo – which Colbert mentioned he was not allowed to show on TV – was taken by a friend.

“It was just me jumping over a friend on the beach… It’s kinda hardcore, but it was so happy for me. It was innocent, playful and a bit wild, ”she said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Colbert recalled meeting Lorde for the first time in the backyard of New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

“You’re nice to me, and I played a prank on you – will you forgive me?” Colbert asked Lorde. She replied, “We will get there. “

She also shared her excitement about returning to the stage for her 2022 world tour, saying “it doesn’t seem real, but I’m very excited.”

“This album is so happy and big and such a great thing to experience with a bunch of people, so I’m glad the timing worked out so we could do a tour.”
