Pusha-T Watched Joker While Working on the Album E! News UK

Pusha-T and Pharrell Williams watched “Joker” for musical inspiration.

The ‘If You Know You’ hitmaker called on his friend to produce his next album and he admitted that working with the ‘Happy’ singer was an intense process, so they had to take regular breaks, but even when they weren’t not officially working. , they still found benefits to their downtime.

Pusha told Complex magazine: “Sometimes I’m just like, ‘Man, okay, let’s go bike riding or play pool.

“[Watching ‘Joker’] was helpful. What happened was we cut the sound [the movie], and we play the music or rhythm while it’s muted. You could see the motion and we’d be like, ‘Oh, that’s a wedding right there.’

The duo began their sessions by going through Pharrell’s music library while the producer focused on composing each of his pal’s songs.

Pusha laughed, “I’m trying to get to the bottom of the barrel of some street shit, and I have to go through an orchestra. But you have to. You have to let him go through his process.

Pharrell had offended Pusha when he called him a “mixtape rapper” after hearing an early snippet of “Hear Me Clearly”.

The rapper recalled: “[Pharrell said] ‘It’s cool, but I don’t want you to be a mixtape rapper for the rest of your life. He was sarcastic and mean.

“He knows my heart is the rap mixtape. Actually, I only like mixtape verses.

“I’ve known him all my life, and there was a time when we both had the same taste for mixtape verses. And it’s a moment that I try to get him to review a lot, dealing with me. I particularly believe that our success and our greatness is when we are in these pockets.
