Selena Gomez has confirmed that she is working on a new album and is open to touring.
During an episode of Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, the Lose You To Love Me singer revealed that she’s currently in Los Angeles working on an LP.
“I’m in LA working on my album now,” she said, though she didn’t share any additional details about when her next album will be released.
Selena’s new album would follow her 2020 record Rare – which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart – and her 2021 Spanish-language EP Revelación.
About promoting the album, Selena noted, “I’m open to touring, one thousand percent, but obviously I have obligations and things I want to do, so when the time is right. It’s not the top of my priority list.”
Selena currently plays Mabel in the TV sitcom Only Murders In The Building, alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short.
When asked about the possibility of a musical episode in the series, she replied, “Steve and I are hesitant because I want to be careful. I love Mabel, and I love the fact that she is an extension of me, so sometimes my concern is that he might become a pop star thing, and that’s clearly not Mabel… (But) I’m not against it.”
The second season of Only Murders In The Building premieres on Hulu in the United States on June 28.
